Refund Policy

At SL Trip Guide (“we”, “our”, “us”), we take pride in delivering exceptional travel and tour experiences across Sri Lanka. While we aim for complete client satisfaction, our Refund Policy is designed to be clear, fair, and to protect all parties involved. By booking a service with us, you agree to the following terms:

1. Liability Limitation
Our total liability, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise, is strictly limited to the total amount paid to us by the client for the specific booking in question. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, nor for dissatisfaction based on personal preferences, weather conditions, or events beyond our control.

2. Advance Payment – Strictly Non-Refundable
To confirm and secure any booking, a non-refundable advance payment is required. This advance covers administrative costs, itinerary planning, guide/vehicle scheduling, and other pre-tour arrangements. Under no circumstances will this advance payment be refunded, regardless of cancellation reason.

3. No Refunds for the Following
No refunds will be issued in full or in part for:

  • Dissatisfaction with subjective aspects of the trip (e.g., food, accommodation style, personal expectations)
  • Force major events such as, weather conditions, natural disasters, or unforeseen events affecting the itinerary
  • Changes in personal circumstances (including illness, flight cancellations, visa issues, or change of mind)
  • Delays or disruptions caused by third-party service providers (airlines, hotels, attractions)
  • Early termination of a tour by the client
  • Failure to attend or late arrival at the scheduled meeting point

4. Cancellations by the Client
If you choose to cancel your booking after confirmation:

  • The non-refundable advance is retained in full.
  • For any remaining balance paid, refunds (if applicable) will only be considered if the cancellation is received in writing at least 30 days before the scheduled start date, and only if no irreversible expenses have been incurred on your behalf.
  • Where a refund is possible, it will be subject to an administrative fee of 15% of the total booking value.

5. Cancellations by SL Trip Guide
In the rare event we must cancel a confirmed booking due to unforeseen circumstances within our control, we will offer either:

  • A full refund of amounts paid, or
  • Rescheduling of the trip at no additional cost.
    We are not liable for additional costs the client may incur due to such cancellations.

6. Goodwill Alternative to Refunds
At our sole discretion, if a client is dissatisfied or requests a refund in situations where our policy states no refund is due, we may offer a credit voucher or discount coupon for use on a future trip with SL Trip Guide within 12 months of issue. This is a goodwill gesture only and does not imply liability.

7. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for failure to perform or delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, strikes, political unrest, health pandemics, or government restrictions. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Refund Policy, and any disputes arising from it, shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

9. Acceptance of Policy
By confirming a booking with SL Trip Guide and/or making payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund Policy.
